Arrest made in Mauriceville shooting death

A man from Orange is now charged with murder in a Mauriceville area shooting death. On Friday, April 28, around 12:30 p.m., deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded a shooting in the 5600 block of Broussard Circle in the Mauriceville area. When deputies arrived, they discovered a man lying near the edge of the roadway with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The victim was identified as Isaac Adams, 23, from Orange. During this time, the suspect, who was also on scene, was taken into custody. He is identified as Jaden Williams, 19, from Orange. The shooting appears to be the result of a disturbance the two men were having just prior to the shooting. Williams was transported to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Jail where he was initially charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The victim was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for emergency medical treatment. On Saturday, April 29, Adams died as a result of the of the gunshot wound, Investigators immediately upgraded Williams’ charge to Murder. Williams remains in custody at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
