ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - A Lufkin man was arrested recently after being accused of sexually assaulting a young girl. On June 17 a father notified police about a possible sexual assault after an 8-year-old girl described the alleged actions of Nicholas Valles, Jr. At the time, Valles lived with the girl and her father. The girl was interviewed by Child Protective Services after she and her father moved out of their house and to a relative’s. According to the arrest affidavit, the girl told investigators that Valles inappropriately touched her on multiple parts of her body, sometimes when she was awake and other times as she was asleep. The girl’s brother corroborated the claim that Valles would touch the girl while she was asleep when he told investigators that he saw Valles touching her while under the bed covers. The affidavit also states that the girl claimed Valles would give her “melatonin” to help her go to sleep and that sometimes she would wake up to Valles touching her. Valles was arrested on Friday, June 21 and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and booked into the Angelina County Jail with a $500,000 bond.
