Affidavit: Lufkin High vandals caused $16K worth of damage

LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - All five suspects in the Lufkin High School vandalism from last week were booked into the Angelina County Jail on Thursday and documents state the brand of flour they used gave them away. Angel Alejandro Madera, Joshua Gutierrez, Joachin Noe Gutierrez, Junior Lopez and Alejondro Segura, all of Lufkin, are each charged with criminal mischief and have posted $1,000 bonds. According to an arrest affidavit, five masked individuals were seen on surveillance entering the high school building through a locker room door on May 17 and pouring flour, cooking oil and dish soap on the balcony carpet and down hallways, ruining the carpet. The affidavit states replacing the carpet will cost $16,000. The affidavit states all five were clothed from head to toe, disguising their skin tone and face. But they were wearing clothing that was easily identified. A flour bag left in the building was from a brand specific to Walmart. Lufkin ISD officers and the school principal went to Walmart and reviewed security footage. Surveillance showed five male students entering the store and buying similar items used in the vandalism. They were wearing the same clothes shown in the school surveillance. All five students are not allowed to participate in graduation exercises Thursday night.
