Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford says a man accused of burglarizing a church late last year has been captured in Houston. According to Weatherford, the crime occurred on the morning of October 30th, 2022 at Fellowship Church on U.S. Highway 69 South at Seneca Road. Weatherford said the suspect made away with guitars, electronics, cash money and debit cards. Images of the suspect were captured on security cameras and those images were supplied to the media and Angelina County Crimestoppers which in turn led to someone identifying the suspect as 47-year-old Juan Gabriel Barreda, of Houston. Sheriff Weatherford says Barreda was recently captured by Houston Police, and the investigation has now possibly tied him to several other crimes in the area. Barreda is currently in the Tyler County Jail and is charged with Burglary of a Building. Justice of the Peace Trisher Ford set his bond at $20,000.00. Weatherford noted that additional charges related to other criminal activity are possible as the investigation continues.
