4 Shelby County residents arrested after $120K worth of guns, lineman equipment recovered

SHELBY COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office arrested four people Tuesday after recovering over $120,000 worth of guns and lineman equipment. According to a release from the office, the arrests came after a search warrant resulted in the recovery of an 18-foot cargo trailer equipped with lineman equipment, as well as guns from other recent burglaries. Those arrested were listed as follows:

  • Christopher Askew, 39, of Shelbyville, was charged with theft of property >=$150K<$300K, unlawful carry of a firearm, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and violation of parole.
  • Ira Alsip, 30, of Shelbyville, was charged with theft of property >=$150K<$300K.
  • Curtis Estes, 56, of Joaquin, was charged with theft of property >=$150K<$300K.
  • Lillian Jernigan, 25, of Joaquin, was arrested for an outstanding warrant of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
