Officials confirmed they have found the two people multiple agencies were searching for Wednesday night on Lake Palestine.
According to Smith County Game Warden Chris Swift, the two are being checked out by medical professionals. He said one jet ski turned over sending the driver into the water. Then, the other person jumped in to help. He thanked the life jackets the two were wearing for what saved their life.
Wednesday night, one of the jet skis was found in the Flat Creek area of the lake. The other jet ski was found near the Village Marina.
Several agencies and tools including Coffee City Police, Henderson County Sheriffs, Smith County officials and a drone were all set up to help locate the people.
Witnesses tell KLTV they saw the two occupied jet skis out on the water around 7:30 p.m. It is unclear what time the jet skis were found without riders.
Smith County ESD 2 Battalion Chief Joe Nix said that the rough water hindered efforts to get a boat out on the lake.
Sgt. Larry Christian said that the initial report was in the area of Lakeside Drive.
Noonday Fire Department, Smith County ESD 2, and EMS also responded to the scene.
