LOGANSPORT, La. -- Two people were killed early Thursday morning in a single vehicle crash north of Logansport, state police said.
The crash claimed the life of Michael Haynes, 23, of Gladwater, Texas. His passenger also died but the identity is being withheld pending positive identification.
Troopers said Haynes was driving a 2008 Ford F-250 south on state Highway 5 near Cool Springs Road around 5:15 a.m. when he ran off the road, overturned and hit a tree.
Neither Haynes nor his passenger was wearing a seat belt. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
