CROCKETT, Texas (KTRE) - Two East Texas men were arrested Tuesday after police officers allegedly found a several hundred grams of cocaine in their vehicle. According to a report by the Crockett Police Department, shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday, officers conducted a traffic stop on South Loop 304 near South 4th Street. The vehicle was occupied by Erik Galvan, 30, of Jacksonville, and Emilio Osorio, 31, of Tyler. The officers said they obtained probable cause to search the vehicle, at which point they claim to have found 3 bricks of what was suspected to be cocaine hidden inside of an aftermarket speaker box. The cocaine was later weighed and totaled a combined amount of about 8 pounds. The officers say they then tackled Galvan as he allegedly attempted to flee the scene on foot. Galvan and Osorio were arrested and booked into the Houston County Jail. Galvan was charged with possession of a controlled substance >=400 grams, evading arrest and resisting arrest. Osario was charged with possession of a controlled substance >=400 grams.
