TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - One person was taken to the hospital after emergency services responded to reports of a drowning at Lake Tyler, according to Tyler Police Department.
Tyler Police received a 911 call at around 4:44 p.m. reporting a female in the water in distress. The call was transferred to EMS to provide CPR instructions.
A Texas Game Warden who was patrolling the lake received the same emergency call at around 4:45 p.m. and arrived at the scene at 4:49 p.m., according to police.
The game warden started life-saving measures and CPR on the 35-year-old woman. She was transported to the hospital with CPR still in progress.
Police said community members at the lake saw the woman in distress and came together to help her and provide CPR before emergency personnel arrived.
Detectives are speaking with the family and gathering information. Police said they will release the woman’s name and condition when appropriate.
Tyler Police said the department patrols Lake Tyler, which is located in the city of Whitehouse in Smith County. Police said drowning incidents at the lake do not happen often.
