LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - One person is dead and several are hurt after Tuesday night’s four-vehicle crash on La. 14 near Fairview Elementary.
The crash claimed the life of 34-year-old Kaylee Luce of Lake Charles, according to Sgt. Brad Puckett of LCPD.
Around 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 3, a Ford F-150 rear-ended a stopped KIA van carrying seven people, including Luce and three juveniles, Puckett said. All seven were taken to a local hospital with severe to moderate injuries.
Luce, who was unrestrained at the time of the crash, died at the hospital, Puckett said. The three juveniles were stabilized and taken to a Baton Rouge hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the F-150 was taken to a local hospital for moderate injuries, according to Puckett.
The crash remains under investigation, and standard toxicology tests are currently pending, Puckett said.
