1 arrested after allegedly shooting at other car in Woodville road-rage incident

WOODVILLE, Texas (KTRE) - The Tyler County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest following what they say was a road-rage shooting in the Woodville area. The incident occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at around 7 a.m., Sheriff Bryan Weatherford’s statement said Tyler County deputies were patrolling the Doucette area when they were told about a road-rage shooting that had just happened on Hwy 190 West near CR 1075. The two vehicles involved were said to be continuing east at a high rate of speed through the city of Woodville. Deputies were eventually able to get both vehicles pulled over on Hwy 190 East. Deputies spoke with one of the drivers, identified as Jimmy Lenox, Jr., 53, of Livingston. Livingston admitted to deputies that he fired a single shot from a .45 caliber handgun toward the vehicle behind him. Deputies did find a bullet hole in the windshield of the other vehicle, on the driver’s side, the sheriff confirmed. They also found the bullet lodged in the back seat headrest, he said. The victim had minor injuries to his face and hand from shattered glass shards, but the sheriff said he refused medical treatment at the scene. Lenox was arrested and taken to the Tyler County Jail, charged with felony aggravated assault. His bond is set at $50,000.
