The Many Tigers started district play Friday night with a 44-31 win over the Red River Bulldogs in Coushatta.
The Tigers opened the scoring on the evening when they drove down the field on their opening drive that was capped off with a 9 yard run by London Williams and then Tackett Curtis added the 2 point conversion for an early 8-0.
After stopping the Bulldogs on their opening drive, the Tigers offense was back to work and it was London Williams 66 TD run and Jeremiah James adding the 2 point conversion for a 16-0 1st quarter lead.
The Bulldogs put together a drive that was capped off with a 2 yard TD run, but the conversion failed.
Trent Williams added on to the Tigers lead with a 1yard TD run. It was all Tigers as they took a 22-6 lead at the half.
The Bulldogs scored on a 35 yard TD pass and a 2 yard TD to cut the Tigers lead to 22-18. The Tigers answered back with James,who rushed for 213 yards on the night,took it in for a 5 yard TD.
In the 4th quarter,the Bulldogs scored on a 69 yard TD and once again the deficit was cut to 30-25.
The Tigers answered back with a 53 yard TD and Trent Williams on a 9 yard run, that was sandwiched between a 75 yard TD pass for the Bulldogs,and it was the Tigers coming away with a 44-31 victory.
Jeremiah James led the rushing for the Tigers with 213, 2 TD,while London Williams,left the game in the first half with an ankle injury, had 117 yards on 8 carries and 2 TD'S.
The Many Tigers 4-1,had 447 yards of total offense while the Red River total offense was 379. The Tigers will host the Winfield Tigers in their homecoming game Friday night October 8th.
