It was a semifinal game that was more explosive than the fireworks display last Friday night as the Tigers London Williams 5 TD'S performance led the Tigers to a 40-38 victory over the Avoyelles Mustang to advance to the state championship game this Friday at the Caesar Superdome. Game time 3:30.
The Tigers took their opening drive in the game as London Williams ramble for a 34 yard TD run with 10:04 remaining in the first quarter. The 2 point conversion failed as the Tigers lead is 6-0.
The Mustangs put on a 77 yard drive that was capped off on a 21 yard TD run. The 2 point conversion was good and the Mustangs was in the lead 8-6. 5:49 remaining in the first quarter.
But the Tigers would bounce right back when Jack Deville hauled in a 21 TD pass from Tackett Curtis and the Tigers regained the lead at 12-8,as the 2 point failed. :57 left in the first quarter.
The scoring continued as the Mustangs scored on a 2 yard TD run, 2 point conversion was good and the Mustangs led 16-12, 11:04left in the second quarter.
London William and the Tigers struck quickly this time, a 52 yard TD run. Jeremiah James 2 point conversion good , 20-16 Tigers lead . 10:09 remaining in the second quarter.
It would be the Mustangs scoring with 4:48remaining in the second quarter and a 22-20 lead over the Tigers.
