Jeremiah James and the Many Tigers offense made quick work of the Springfield Bulldogs and the Tigers defense forced 7 punts, plus holding the Bulldogs on 2 different occasions on 4th downs to record a shout out as I the Tigers rolled over the Bulldogs 61-0 last Friday night on a cold and light rainy night.The Tigers, receiving the opening kickoff from their own 42 and 6 plays later the Tigers scored on a 1 yard touchdown by James, with 10:36 left in the first quarter of play. The pat failed as the ball slipped through the holders hands, 6-0, Tiger. The drive took only 1:24.
The Bulldogs 4 and out, punted to the Tigers, where they would take over from their own 48.
QB Hayden Evans got this drive started with a 25 yard pass to J.C. Hendrickson to the 11 yard line, as James scored on a 11 yard run with 7:33 remaining in the first quarter. The try for 2 failed, 12-0, Tiger s. 52 yards in 5 plays, 1:51.
With the Bulldogs failing to pick up 1st down, the Tigers has the ball at their own 45. On 2nd and 10, James went 55 yards for his 3rd touchdown in still the first quarter. LaFollette kick is good, 19-0, 5:40 left. The drive, 2 plays :15.
Defense playing solid for the Tigers stopped the Bulldogs once again. From there own 38, Tylen Singleton rambled for 23 yards. The Tigers were penalized for a block in the back. Evans connects with Hendrickson once again, this time for 32 yards, down to the 5. Next play, James would score his fourth touchdown in the contest to up the Tigers score to 26-0 on LaFollette kick. 3 plays on the drive, 3:34 left in the first quarter.
The Bulldogs facing another 4th down, came up with a 51 yard punt, down to the Tigers 23, with 2:30 left in the first quarter.
James picked up 12 yards, then Evans completed an 18 yard pass to Trevor McClendon and came right back to McClendon for another 11 yard pass, down to the Bulldogs 39. It would be James on runs of 3,6,10,10, and with a 1st and goal at the 10, James would score his 5th touchdown of the night for a 33-0 on LaFollette kick. The drive, 9 plays, 77 yards in 3:41.
The Tigers defense once again denying the Bulldogs any movement of their offense as the Tigers offense would take over at the 40 yard line. Evans completed an 11 yard pass to Jaxon Foster, to the 29, James for 3, and on the next play, James would score from 26 yards out for his 6th touchdown of the game. LaFollette kick is good, 40-0, 7:36 left in the first half. 3 plays, 40 yards 1:01.
With 5:03 left in the first half, Evans connected with Ky Warren for a 19 yard touchdown pass. LaFollette kick is good, 47-0. The drive, 2 plays 19 yards :47.
Jeremiah James would come up with a record breaking 7th touchdown of the contest, this on a 41 yard touchdown. It took only one play, and :09. LaFollette kick is good, 54-0.
From this point on, with a running clock, a lot of players got into the game, as the starting unit was pulled for the remainder of the 3rd quarter and the 4th quarter.
The younger players made a defensive goal line stand at the Tigers 15 yard line and held the Bulldogs scoreless. From the 15, Demario Woods picked up 31 yards on 2 plays. Jeremiah Williams picked up 18 yards on 3 plays and Williams would climax the scoring on the night on a 29 yard touchdown run and LaFollette pat is good for a 61-0 victory.
The Tigers will host the South Plaquemines Hurricanes this Friday night: kickoff 7 o'clock.
The Tigers improved to 8-2 on the season.
