Margie McLaren Sparks (Mawmaw), 84 years old, of Provencal, passed away peacefully in her home on June 11,2023 surrounded by family.  She was born May 6, 1939 to Frank McLaren and Silverene Roy McLaren in Natchitoches.  She married Gerald Leonard Sparks on November 19, 1957 and was a housewife for most of her life.  They had two girls.  Margie was the last living sibling of nine.  Mawmaw Margie loved her family, kids, grandkids and great grandkids.  She loved being a grandmother.  According to her, if she could have been a grandparent first, she would have never had kids.  Her favorite pastimes were fishing at her pond, gardening, and fussing with Gerald.

The family would like to thank Angela Eaves and Hand in Hand Hospice of Natchitoches, for their kindness and care in her last days.
