- A funeral service celebrating the life of Charles Earl Shoalmire, Sr, 88, will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Fellowship Baptist Church, with Bro. Phillip Collier officiating. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Converse, LA. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm, Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Fellowship Baptist Church.

- Cremation has been entrusted to Myers Colonial Funeral Home for Cathy Dee Buchanan Clark, age 73, of DeRidder, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026. Service will be announced at a later date.
- Ralph Wead passed from this life peacefully, surrounded by family, early Sunday morning, June 7, 2026. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, 06/13/2026 at 2;00pm at Burr Ferry Pentecostal Church, Brother Lewis Robertson will officiate the service. A public visitation will be begin on Saturday, from 10:00am until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Burr Ferry Cemetery.
- Swinney McCain, Jr., a beloved figure in our community, who left us on June 8, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on November 14, 1960, in Bon Wier, Texas. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Swinney's life during a funeral service at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. A public viewing will take place on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the service at 2:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at Belgrade Cemetery in Bon Wier, TX.
