- Thomas Walter "Sonny" Hardee, Ill, a lifelong resident of Pleasant Hill, Louisiana, was called to his Heavenly home on June 30, 2026 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born on July 3, 1938, to the late Thomas W. Hardee, Jr. and Eulalia Tucker Hardee. Family members will welcome Sonny's friends on Friday, July 3, 2026, from 11 a.m. — 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church, 1856 W 1st Street. Service starts at 2 p.m., with Rev. Ed Dilworth and Bro. Mike Stewart officiating, immediately following the welcome. The interment is at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery on the corner of Hwy 174 and 4th Street.
- Billie Carol Maxey, age 74, of Belmont, Louisiana passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Born on October 16, 1951, Billie was a gentle soul whose sweet spirit touched countless lives. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 3, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Many, Louisiana with Reverend Leslie Frietch officiating followed by burial at Bayou Scie Cemetery, where Billie will rest beside her parents and beloved "Boom-Boom". Visitation will begin on Friday, July 3, 2026 at 1:30 PM at the First United Methodist Church.
- A graveside service for William "Will" Preston Muse will be held at 11:00 a.m. today, at Pine Island Cemetery in Simpson under the direction of Jeane's Funeral Service in Leesville. Will was born December 28, 1965, in Leesville, Louisiana and passed away July 4, 2026, in Leesville, at the age of 60.
- Darval J. Burks, who left this world on July 2, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on March 6, 1934, in Cole Central, LA. Public viewings will be held at Broadlands Bible Church on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and again on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM, also at Broadlands Bible Church. Darval will be laid to rest at Hopewell Cemetery following the service. Brother Tim Bergen, Brother Darrel Cline, Brother Dalton Isbell and Brother Aaron Isbell will officiate the service.
