- Mrs. Peggy Joyce House Sowell, age 90, of Chireno, Texas, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in Nacogdoches, Texas. Graveside services are set for- 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Sowell Cemetery in San Augustine County with Bro David Baxley officiating.
- Mr. Michael Patrick Sowell, age El, a longtime resident of San Augustine County, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Autumn Leaves Health Care Center in Henderson, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Attoyac Baptist Church, located at 600 FM 3316 in San Augustine County, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2026, at Attoyac Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Green officiating. Interment will follow at Attoyac Cemetery.

After the service, Lynda will be laid to rest at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, LA
