An investigation is underway into the death of a contract worker at an industrial terminal. Capt. Crystal Holmes with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office tells KFDM/Fox 4 News deputies responded to the call shortly before 3 p.m. Monday at the Energy Transfer company terminal in the 2300 block of Twin City Highway, just outside of Nederland. The Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of the worker, who was killed at the scene, according to Capt. Holmes. Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett says the worker fell from a scaffold. The judge was on scene and ordered an autopsy. He says the man who died was not from Jefferson County, but from a nearby county. "My thoughts and prayers go out to the man's family," said Judge Burnett. The terminal is an above ground crude oil storage facility.
