Jasper Police are investigating the discovery of a body on the south side of town. Officers were called to O’Reilly Auto Parts in the 1300 block of South Wheeler Street, shortly after 1:00 on Wednesday afternoon, when it was reported that the remains of the man had been discovered by one of the workers at the auto parts store in a large field behind store.
Jasper Police Chief Gerald Hall only described the deceased as a white or Hispanic male. However, the identity of the individual is not known. Hall, who was at the scene, said there was no indication or evidence that would reveal the identity of the individual or what caused his death. However, Hall did say the deceased was unclothed and it appeared that his body might have been dumped there.
