A woman managed to safely escape from her car after it plunged into the Angelina River on Monday night. It happened at about 9:00 in the Bevilport Community where Farm to Market Road 2799 abruptly ends at the river.
Law enforcement officers spoke to the woman and an EMS crew checked her out, but she seemed to be physically unharmed.

You may remember that a tragedy occurred in November of 2016 at this same spot with the same circumstances. Jessica Lynn Tate, 36, drove her 2006 Nissan sedan into the river late at night and drowned in the car before she could be rescued.
