Louisiana State Police say a woman died in a head-on collision in Sabine Parish. Troopers say it occurred at about 4:30 Sunday afternoon on Highway 171, just north of Hornbeck. According to troopers, 32-year-old Shawna Crochet, of Florien, was driving northbound in a 2019 Volkswagen when, for an unknown reason, she crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a 2021 Chevrolet pickup truck. Troopers said Crochet was pronounced dead at the scene, while the juvenile driver of the truck was not injured.
