A woman involved in last week’s family disturbance in Brookeland which ended with the shooting of her cousin with a stolen gun has now been arrested and charged. The incident occurred late Tuesday night on Circle Drive. Jasper County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Scotty Duncan said it began with a man assaulting his cousin, a woman, who then used a handgun, which was reported stolen out of Newton County, and shot her cousin in the ankle. She has been identified as 30-year-old LaToya Davis, and she has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon of a Family Member, and Theft of a Firearm.
