The Lake Rayburn Fire Department and Texas A&M Forest Service were busy on Wednesday afternoon dealing with a small wildfire. It was reported shortly after 3:00 in the 3800 block of Farm to Market Road 1007. Early reports said that it began as a grass and brush fire which then reached a wooded area. The first firefighters on the scene reported that it was only about a quarter-acre in size, and they were able to quickly get a handle on it. There’s no word on how the blaze began.
