Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department Detective Rhonda Jordan says fire crews and deputies were working a wildfire in the Burr Ferry Community late Wednesday afternoon. According to Jordan, it was along the Sabine River in the area of Burr Cemetery Road. Jordan says there was a fire nearby on Lynn Nash Road the night before, and it’s possible that the latest blaze may be a rekindle of the earlier fire. Smoke could be seen rising from the fire by motorists driving on the Highway 63 Sabine River Bridge.
