A killer is still roaming free, and once again the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department is issuing a plea to the public for information to find that person. The murder occurred shortly after midnight on Easter Sunday morning during a party following a trail ride that ended at Laday Arena in the Cheek Community. Javoris Potier, 30, of Houston, was shot to death. Early on, investigators said that despite hundreds of people being present, no one initially cooperated with the investigation. Since that time, investigators say a few witnesses have come forward with information, but more is needed.
