Newton County Sheriff Colton Havard says a wanted fugitive was captured in Deweyville early Thursday morning.
Havard said his deputies along with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Marshal’s Service were conducting a fugitive operation when they spotted Steven Claude Gribble, Jr. driving on Highway 12.
Sheriff Havard said Gribble had federal warrants and also warrants in Orange County for drugs and also fleeing from law enforcement.
Gribble was stopped and arrested and is now in the LaSalle Correctional Facility in Beaumont.
