WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Waco man remains jailed Monday after police say he stabbed his brother in the hand with a barbecue fork during an altercation Friday at a home in the 900 block of Faulkner Lane.
Police charged Richie Doran Summers, 55, with first-degree felony aggravated assault in the incident that started over an argument “regarding items in the kitchen,” according to an arrest affidavit.
When police arrived, they encountered “a large barbecue fork lodged into the hand of the victim,” arrest records allege.
The argument over the kitchen items escalated into a “physical altercation” after Summers grabbed a barbecue fork from the kitchen wall and stabbed his brother in the hand. After the assault, Summers went to his bedroom, where police arrested him, the affidavit states.
Summers’ brother underwent surgery on his hand, according to the affidavit.
Court records show Summers was arrested May 30 on a misdemeanor assault charge and was released after posting $3,000 bond.
Summers remains jailed on the new charge under $100,000 bond.
