GILMER, Texas (KLTV) - Law enforcement officials are investigating human remains found Saturday in a vehicle that had been reported missing, Upshur County Sheriff’s Office said.
According to Upshur County Chief Sheriff’s Deputy David Hazel, the vehicle had been reported as belonging to missing woman Donna Leah Johnson, 64. Due to decomposition, Hazel said the body found inside has not yet been confirmed as the person reported missing along with the vehicle, though it is her vehicle.
Hazel said that steps are being taken to identify the remains.
Due to this case being investigated by the Gilmer Police Department, Hazel was unable to provide further details. KLTV has reached out the police department.
