A woman is dead and a Buna man has been arrested following an auto-pedestrian accident that occurred on Tuesday evening on Highway 62 in the south end of Jasper County.
State Troopers say the accident occurred around 8:00 on Highway 62 near the intersection of County Road 826 when the woman, 31-year-old Britany Esquivel, of Groves, was struck by a 2014 Ford pickup truck driven by 39-year-old Cody Clark, of Buna.
Officers said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a Jasper County Justice of the Peace and Clark, who was not injured, was taken into custody and transported to the Jasper County Jail where he was charged with Intoxication Manslaughter.
