Jasper Police say a father is hospitalized and his son is under arrest following a Friday night shooting. Captain Mike Poindexter says it occurred shortly after 8:00 at Pioneer Crossing, which is a new apartment complex on South Bowie Street. According to Poindexter, officers responded to a report of shots fired and arrived to find a substantial amount of blood outside on the parking lot, indicating that someone had been shot. Poindexter said officers learned a short time later that the victim drove himself to the Jasper Memorial Hospital emergency room. On Saturday, Lieutenant Garrett Foster identified the victim as Danny Hafford, unknown age, and he said the shooting was during an argument between the two. Meanwhile, officers at the scene pieced together information which led to them to an apartment where they detained the son and took him in for questioning, and later transferred him to the Jasper County Jail. The name of the son has not yet been released pending formal charges at arraignment.
