Details have not been released, but KJAS News has confirmed that a 3-year-old male child died over the weekend. Jasper Police say it happened at The Park Apartments on Marvin Hancock Drive. KJAS News was originally told that the child drowned in a bath tub. However, Jasper County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Mike Smith says that the cause of death actually has not yet been determined. Judge Smith pronounced the child dead and he ordered an autopsy. Smith said that he saw signs no of trauma or injury on the child's body. KJAS News will update this story when more information becomes available.
