CAMPTI, La. (KALB) - UPDATE: Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office said deputies have arrested a man from Fairview Alpha that is believed to have been involved in the hit-and-run in Campti on Friday, February 2. Authorities have not released the name of the suspect, though they said he was charged for driving while intoxicated. NPSO said the man was pulled over Saturday morning by deputies on La. Hwy 480, north of the International Paper-Red River Mill in the Fairview Alpha area and was driving a dark-colored Chevrolet HHR with damage which matched information RPSO had previously learned. They said the man’s vehicle was seized as evidence and secured at an undisclosed location. NPSO said the investigation into the hit-and-run in Campti is ongoing and that they will release more information as it becomes available. Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Detectives said on Friday (Feb. 2) that they are looking for the public’s assistance in an investigation into a hit-and-run crash which occurred earlier that day in Campti and has left one pedestrian with life-threatening injuries. They said NPSO Deputies, Campti Police, and local EMS responded to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian on US-71 near Campti Bayou Road.
