A single-vehicle crash killed a woman from Alexandria on Sunday night who was not wearing a seat belt.
Troopers responded to the crash around 7:30 p.m. on Interstate 49, north of LA Hwy 174. The crash involved a 2001 Honda SUV, driven by Delissa Y. Horn, 52. The Honda was northbound on Interstate 49 when it experienced a tire failure. As a result, Horn reacted by oversteering and lost control. The vehicle then collided with a guardrail and overturned.
Horn was ejected during the crash and sustained serious injuries. She was transported to Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport where she was pronounced dead.
Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
