U.S. Mail truck hit broadside by a pickup in Polk County

Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

Amazingly, there were no injuries when a U.S. Mail truck was hit broadside by a pickup truck in Polk County on Sunday afternoon. Polk County Today is reporting that it happened shortly before 1:00 on Highway 190, about 8 miles west of the Alabama Coushatta Indian Reservation. State troopers say the driver of the mail truck attempted to make a u-turn and she pulled out in front of a Ford pickup truck which hit the side of the mail truck. The names of the drivers were not included in the report. As the scene was being cleared, another postal employee began transferring mail and packages into a different mail truck for delivery.
