TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A Tyler man was arrested Thursday morning after he barricaded himself inside his home.
According to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for William Garrett Bragg, 33 of Tyler, for assault of a pregnant woman.
The following day, around 10 a.m., deputies and investigators went to Bragg’s home on 14808 State Highway 31 East to arrest him, the press release stated.
The sheriff’s office said deputies attempted to contact Bragg but he refused to answer the door.
Deputies were able to communicate with Bragg via phone when he sent a text message saying he was not going to make it easy for law enforcement, the release said.
The patrol sergeant notified the case investigator who was able to obtain a search warrant to remove Bragg from his home, the sheriff’s office said.
Once the search warrant was obtained, Bragg saw the large presence of law enforcement so he decided to exit the from door of the home, the release stated.
Bragg was then taken to Smith County Jail where he is being held on a $100,000 bond for assault of a pregnant woman.
