A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old are behind bars following two threatening social media posts.
Just after 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, School Resource Officer St. Dep. Rufus Porter was alerted about a post on social media threatening a shooting at C.E. Byrd High School, according to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office. CPSO detectives worked through the night and determined that the post was done by the 16-year-old, who attends a different high school.
Porter was then notified of another post threatening to blow up Byrd High School. Detectives traced that back to a 17-year-old Byrd student.
Both were arrested for terrorizing and booked into the Caddo Juvenile Detention Center.
Another juvenile was charged following threats made against Woodlawn High School, prompting increased security on campus on Thursday, March 31.
