According to DPS Sergeant Shana Clark, 7o-year-old Christopher Martin, of Silsbee, is employed by Pineywoods Sanitation and he had been driving a Ford pickup truck pulling a lowboy trailer. Clark said Martin had stopped the truck and trailer which were partially on the roadway, and he was on the trailer unloading trash cans. Sergeant Clark said Vance Hill, 79, of Buna, was driving a Toyota Tacoma truck which side-swiped both the lowboy trailer and the Ford truck. Clark said the entire bed of the Ford truck was completely torn off and it flew into the opposite lane of traffic where it was hit by a Dodge passenger car driven by Karlye Bayer, 19, of Buna. Clark said Mr. Martin was injured when he jumped off the lowboy as it was being hit by the other truck, and Bayer was injured when her car struck the truck bed.
