Two people have died and another has been arrested and jailed as the result of a fiery auto accident that occurred shortly before 3:00 on Saturday morning in Beaumont.
KFDM is reporting that the accident occurred at the intersection of Interstate 10 and Harrison Street. Officer DeAnna Wiltz of the Beaumont Police Department told KFDM that both vehicles erupted in flames and that the two victims of the crash died at the scene while two other people were taken by ambulance to a hospital.
The driver of one of the vehicles, Jesus Mario Medina, 29 is accused of being drunk and causing accident and the death of two other people.
Judge Baylor Wortham officially arraigned Medina on two charges of Intoxication Manslaughter. Wortham set bond on Medina $200,000 and at last word Medina remained in the Jefferson County Jail.
If Medina is able to make bond, Judge Wortham has ordered that he use an ignition interlock device when he drives.
