The Texas Department of Public Safety says a driver and her passenger were injured in a two-vehicle crash in south Jasper County on Saturday afternoon. It happened at about 4:25 on Highway 96 at County Road 729 near Buna.
DPS Sergeant Shana Clark said 20-year-old Jlynn Cherry, of Buna, was driving a Toyota Highlander on County Road 729 and she ran the stop sign and pulled out onto Highway 96 into the path of a northbound Dodge Ram pickup truck, driven by a 64-year-old man from Pennington.
The truck hit the woman’s vehicle.
The driver of the truck was not injured, but Cherry and her 19-year-old passenger were both transported by ambulance to St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment of their injuries.
