SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - On the morning of June 25, around 5:20 a.m., troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 175 near Scott Road.
The crash resulted in the deaths of Carlos Helm, 49, and Alonzo Thompkins, 39.
An investigation revealed that Helm’s car was traveling north on Highway 175, and Thompkins’ car, at the same time, was traveling south on the same road.
For reasons that are still being investigated, Helm’s car crossed the centerline and crashed into Thompkins’.
Helm had fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Thompkins also sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Impairment is not suspected; however, toxicology samples were taken and submitted for analysis.
This crash remains under investigation.
