Two people are dead and another is in critical condition following a two-vehicle accident that occurred just east of Jasper, shortly after 9:00 on Saturday morning on Highway 190 near the entrance to the LP Corporation's Oriented Strand Board Plant. Firemen and other emergency crews were dispatched to location and arrived to find one of the vehicles overturned with a person trapped underneath a Cadillac. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Autjuan Turner was driving a 2004 Cadillac passenger car eastbound and attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone. The Cadillac collided head-on with a westbound 2002 Nissan Sentra, driven Audrey Williams from Holly Springs. A passenger in the Cadillac, Stephon Johnson, 30, of Burkeville, was trapped underneath the car and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Williams was rushed to St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where she died. Turner, was also transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont and was, at last word, listed in critical condition. Both the East End and Jasper Fire Departments responded to the incident.
