One person was injured in a two-vehicle auto accident that occurred on Sunday evening at the intersection of US Highways 190 and 96 here in Jasper. Police and other emergency crews were dispatched to the location shortly after 6:00, when it was reported that the crash involving a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria and a late model Chevrolet SUV had occurred. What happened is not clear. However, police say the Ford was headed eastbound on Highway 190 and the Chevrolet was headed eastbound and turning south on Highway 96, when the crash occurred. The driver of the Ford, Robert Twine of Jasper, was treated for an injury to his hand and later released from Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet, Kaylee Harvey and her two young children, all of Jasper, were also released from the hospital after they were checked out and reported to be ok. Twine, who is a patrol officer with the Jasper Police Department, was off duty and driving his own personal car, when the accident occurred.
