Truck turns over at the intersection of Highways 190 and 96

Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

No one was hurt but a portion of a major intersection here in Jasper was blocked for some time on Wednesday afternoon when an eighteen wheeled tractor trailer truck turned over. Police, firemen and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Highways 96 and 190 shortly after 1:00, when it was reported that the accident occurred. Witnesses at the scene said the truck was traveling north on Highway 96 and was turning west onto Highway 190, when it overturned. The 2023 Mack, which was owned by the driver Richard Robles was transporting large rolls of paper, which is thought to have shifted when the truck made the turn. Robles, 59, of Jasper, crawled through the windshield after the truck came to a stop on it's side and was not injured the crash. The large rolls of paper, which were said to have weighed over 6,000 pounds each were removed from the truck by crews from Jasper Xxon Towing and TNT Wrecker, which also worked together to up right the rig.
