The Newton Fire Department was busy dealing with a truck fire early Wednesday morning. According to Captain Melanie Smith, it happened at about 7:30 next to Highway 87 just north of Newton. The truck was destroyed, but fortunately there were no injuries. Captain Smith said the cause of the blaze is unknown.
