Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman says his department is investigating two separate crimes that occurred over the weekend in the Lake Rayburn area in which a truck, a 4-wheeler, and a dirt bike were stolen.
Newman said in one of the cases, a man had left an olive green 2003 Ford F-350 King Ranch Edition pickup truck with a “FOR SALE” sign on it next to Recreational Road 255 near the medical clinic, and he later discovered that someone had stolen it. The truck had Texas license plate 1TU689, and as of Monday it remains missing.
In another case that occurred on County Road 219 in the Lakeland Addition, Newman said a Polaris brand 4-wheeler and a dirt bike were stolen from a residence. Newman said the owner later found the dirt bike abandoned in a pasture near his home, but as of Monday the 4-wheeler has not been recovered.
