TROUP, Texas (KLTV) - A Troup couple was killed in a head-on collision Friday night.
According to DPS spokesperson Adam Albritton, Adam Christopher Frantz, 38, and Ashlee Lann Frantz, 34, both of Troup, were killed in a wreck around 6:30 p.m. on Mixon Road in Smith County.
According to a preliminary investigation, a Mercedes SUV, driven by Daniel Massad, of Grand Saline, was traveling north when it entered the opposite lane as it went around a curve.
The SUV struck a 2018 Corolla, in which Adam and Ashlee Frantz were in.
The passenger in the Corolla was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The crash is still under investigation, Albritton said.
The couple were dedicated volunteers at their church. KLTV received a photo of them volunteering at Vacation Bible School last week.
Toxicology results are pending.
