Trooper saved trapped driver by pushing car away from other car on fire

Texas Department of Public Safety Corporal Ramey Bass saved the life of a trapped driver by using his patrol SUV to push her car away from another vehicle that was on fire after a collision. It happened during the noon hour on Tuesday on Highway 190 just west of Livingston. Polk County Today is reporting that a Nissan Versa was westbound when an eastbound Ford SUV crossed the center line and the two vehicles collided head-on. Polk County deputies helped the driver of the Ford get out of his vehicle which was on fire. However, the woman driving the Nissan was unconscious and trapped due to the damage to her vehicle, and the fire which had engulfed the Ford was close to igniting her vehicle. The names of the drivers have not yet been released. The driver of the Nissan is reportedly hospitalized in critical condition, while the driver of the Ford had non-life-threatening injuries.
