Wind in the eastern edge of Tropical Storm Beryl blew a large oak tree down onto a mobile home. It happened shortly before 3:00 at a mobile home park on Carlton Drive between Highway 96 and Fletcher Street. The tree crushed the middle of the house, which belonged to Alicia Belle Stafford. She was trapped inside, however, a neighbor, Steven Handy, helped her escape by pulling open the bottom edge of the house’s back door and she was then able to crawl out. There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
