A man was struck and killed by a train Monday afternoon in Vidor. Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll says the pedestrian was hit at about 1:20 p.m. on the tracks at Ethel Lane and East Railroad. Chief Carroll confirms that the victim died upon impact with the train. As part of their investigation, they will obtain footage from the train engineer. Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Hershel Stagner was called to the scene. While the investigation is ongoing, drivers are requested to avoid FM 1132 and E. Railroad.
